The Role
We are seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Shilstone House. Your main responsibility is to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality dishes to our guests. You will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare ingredients and assist with basic cooking tasks
* Follow recipes and instructions accurately
* Ensure food is presented beautifully and consistently
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your workstation
* Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
* Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
* Receive and store deliveries correctly
* Assist in monitoring stock levels and reducing waste
Skills & Experience:
* Some experience in a professional kitchen (preferred but not essential)
* Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
* Team player with good communication skills
* Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Passion for food, cooking, and delivering excellent dining experiences
Additional Information:
* Your own transport is essential as we are not on any bus routes
* Be ready to start March/April
Pay & Benefits:
* 25-40 hours per week Wednesday - Sunday
* £14 to £16 per hour (dependent on age and experience)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
