Space Planner – Customer Journey & Compliance
12 Month Contract
Newbury or Southeast London (Hybrid Working Available)
We are recruiting for two Space Planners to support Estate Development within a leading organisation in the Telecoms industry. These roles will sit within the Customer Journey and Compliance workstreams, ensuring that store formats, designs, and merchandising standards are consistently delivered across the estate.

What you’ll be doing
Customer Journey Responsibilities
* Translate store concepts into clear merchandising briefs, ensuring all supporting processes are in place.
* Manage sign-off processes and track progress, providing updates to key stakeholders.
* Support store readiness activities and partner with the Compliance Specialist to verify alignment between approved plans and pre-opening checks.
* Maintain an up-to-date library of fixtures, templates, and store formats to support estate evolution.
Compliance Responsibilities
* Ensure merchandising principles are consistently applied within new store designs as part of a wider consolidation programme.
* Provide guidance to field teams and operational stakeholders on merchandising and compliance standards.
* Lead post‑implementation audits to confirm that stores meet agreed merchandising and layout requirements.
* Identify key milestones within compliance workflows and ensure deliverables are achieved on time.
* Review and refine processes to drive operational efficiency and accuracy across store estate projects.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with strengths in either or both specialisms (Customer Journey and/or Compliance).
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Experience within a retail or operations environment.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret store layouts and plans.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to manage and influence stakeholders.
* Understanding of merchandising principles and standards.
* Ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
* (For Compliance-focused responsibilities) Understanding of technical drawings (e.g., CAD).
