At Virgin Active, our purpose is to change people’s lives for the better through wellness. We’re building exceptional Pilates experiences across our clubs and are looking for Comprehensive Pilates Instructors who are fully equipment-trained, member-focused and passionate about helping people move better and feel stronger.
In this role, you’ll deliver personalised 1:1 sessions, lead small-equipment group classes and teach our signature Pilates experiences, while building a loyal client base and supporting the growth of Pilates within our clubs.
The Role
1. Deliver personalised 1:1 comprehensive Pilates sessions tailored to individual member goals and needs
2. Lead small-equipment group Pilates classes that motivate and inspire members
3. Deliver Virgin Active signature Pilates group classes to a high standard
4. Design structured programmes that support progress, performance and long-term movement quality
5. Identify movement limitations and integrate corrective strategies into training plans
6. Build strong, long-term relationships with members to support retention and referrals
7. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging coaching
8. Uphold Virgin Active brand standards through professionalism and leadership on the gym floor
9. Collaborate with Product Managers and club teams to enhance the Pilates experience
10. Support newer instructors and contribute to team development where appropriate
11. Continuously develop your knowledge through internal and external learning opportunities
12. Actively review performance and engage with feedback to grow your practice
Experience
13. Hold a recognised Comprehensive Pilates qualification covering all apparatus
14. Ideally have experience working within a Comprehensive Pilates studio environment
15. Hold a valid DBS check
16. Hold public liability insurance
17. Demonstrate the ability to coach clients safely and effectively to a high standard
18. Be confident working independently and managing your own schedule
19. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
20. Be confident supporting members with different goals, abilities and learning styles
21. Be organised and comfortable using booking systems and digital platforms
22. Be flexible with working patterns, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required
