The Hays Bristol finance team is exclusively working with an outstanding charitable organization, a market leader in its sector, undergoing an exciting period of transformation and change.
The senior leadership team is seeking to hire an interim financial controller to support the CFO by reviewing, processing, and improving critical areas of the business, specifically income, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP). The role also involves supporting a system update and managing any challenges that arise from it.
We aim to conduct interviews as early as next week, with the possibility of starting the role within this month. The initial contract is expected to last between 3 to 6 months (flexible), providing immediate support to the senior leadership team and assisting with long-term planning. The role is paid on a day-rate basis (inside or IR35, as it involves managing a team). The preferred working arrangement is 2 days per week onsite in Bristol, but this is negotiable.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Qualified accountant with strong technical skills.
2. Experience in the charitable sector is desirable and advantageous.
3. Personable with a positive attitude, capable of fostering a positive team culture.
4. Reporting to the CFO, with 4 direct reports and an overall team of approximately 16 members.
5. Ability to review processes and drive improvements.
6. Leadership qualities, able to lead from the front.
7. Proven ability to communicate and present information effectively to senior stakeholders.
