This is an incredibly exciting and important time for the educational provision in our community of Tonyrefail and I hope that you will wish to be part of this wonderful opportunity for our children. We are looking to appoint an ambitious, highly motivated and experienced ALNCo to join our leadership team as an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for ALN.
We are looking for an experienced ALNCo to lead the strategic and operational direction of ALN across the school. As we are a through school (3-19) we are looking for an experienced ALNCo who will be able to support learners across the phases from Nursery to Year 13 who has secure knowledge of the ALN process and how best to support learners with ALN. The successful ALNCo will have a reduced/minimum teaching commitment and will be fully supported by the leadership team, an experienced and valued full time non-teaching deputy ALNCo and a team of support staff who work across the school.
We would welcome applications from experienced ALNCo’s from a primary or secondary background or from existing members of senior leadership teams who have ALNCo responsibilities. Above all else, we are seeking a genuine team player who values the success of the entire team as much as their own.
As a team of staff, we lead a truly all-through learning experience, which is exciting, fully inclusive and highly successful. Our young people are encouraged to develop as individuals with an ability to articulate their learning, showcase their creativity and talent and feel proud of their national culture. We not only lead our school to success but also model high aspiration and represent something good for the future so that our young people understand the world and how to change it for the better.
Tonyrefail Community School is seeking to appoint a self-motivated, self-disciplined colleague who is driven to do the best they can. In return our school is an enjoyable place to be for all who learn and work in it. It is positive and energetic; a place that feels good about itself. Our children are taught in an encouraging atmosphere surrounded by the optimism and aspiration that will allow them to develop as highly competent, resilient and determined young people. Every child who graduates from Tonyrefail Community School will have the confidence, self-awareness and resilience to successfully take their ambitious next steps.
We are looking for a person who values the success of their colleagues as much as their own and whilst setting high standards for behaviour ensures that every pupil is treated with respect and feels included. Our team of staff is honest, generous and open. Our team is supportive of each other, and innovation is encouraged with talents and ideas nurtured. We create a safe learning environment for all who work here. Our Leadership team strives to create a no fear culture where open and honest self-reflection is expected for improvement and where excellence and going the extra mile is rewarded.
Whilst all prior experience will be valued, please remain mindful that this is a role for visionary practitioners who are excited about the future of education in Wales and the possibilities that an all through provision within a state-of-the-art setting can provide. If you are excited about the possibilities that an all through setting can bring and share our vision for an excellent school, then we very much welcome your application to join us.
PROTECTING CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT RISK IS A CORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SCHOOL AND COUNCIL. IN ADDITION TO THIS SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITY, THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR THE ROLE WILL ALSO BE SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK.
