We are a specialist 2-bed children's home in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

The Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Deputy Manager to help lead our home.
This role combines hands-on leadership during shifts with dedicated office time to support the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
You'll work closely with the Registered Manager, gaining one-to-one mentoring and training to prepare you for future senior management opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead shifts and guide the team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
* Work directly with children to promote positive routines and emotional wellbeing.
* Participate in structured training and development with the Registered Manager.
* Manage shift planning, safeguarding, and incident reporting.
* Contribute to care planning, reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
* Use office days to complete admin tasks, update records, and ensure Ofsted compliance.
* Act as a role model, setting professional standards and best practice.
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential.
* Experience in a senior or shift-leading role within children's residential care.
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and EBD care practices.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Resilient, child-focused, and able to lead by example.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – Essential.
