Year 1 Teacher - Richmond Independent School, starting January 2026.
In the first week of January 2026, the Year 1 Teacher meets families, establishes routines and launches a phonics refresh. Mid-January 2026, the Year 1 Teacher models writing through shared composition and builds number fluency with practical maths. By late January 2026, the Year 1 Teacher has set up guided reading, playful inquiry and targeted intervention, all within the rich resources of an Independent School that prizes curiosity.
Daily, the Year 1 Teacher blends direct instruction with purposeful play. In assemblies, the Year 1 Teacher celebrates effort; in tutoring slots, the Year 1 Teacher narrows gaps. The Independent School timetable frees the Year 1 Teacher to focus on core learning while specialists extend the wider curriculum. Through January 2026 and into spring 2026, coaching and partnering with colleagues sharpen the Year 1 Teacher craft.
