Prospero Teaching are supporting a welcoming and well-organised secondary school in the Warrington area who are looking to appoint a full-time Cover Supervisor from January. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain hands-on classroom experience. It’s ideal for graduates, education support staff, or anyone considering a future teaching career.
The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the class teacher. You will maintain a positive learning environment, ensure work is completed to a high standard and support pupils with staying focused and engaged. The school are looking for someone confident, proactive and able to build strong relationships with students.
Responsibilities
7. Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared lesson plans
8. Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
9. Supporting pupils to stay on task, motivated and engaged
10. Providing brief feedback to teaching staff after lessons
11. Promoting a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment
12. Building rapport with pupils and contributing to the wider school community
