Job Title: Marine Systems Officer

Location: Port of Grangemouth

Hours: 0900-1700 Monday - Thursday, 0900-1600 Friday

Compensation: £37,296

About The Role

As Marine Systems Officer, you will support the design, installation, operation and maintenance of marine systems across the port network, ensuring they perform safely, efficiently and in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Working closely with technical teams, suppliers and operational stakeholders, you will contribute to system upgrades, maintenance programmes, troubleshooting activities and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also support data analysis, reporting and training activities, helping to enhance system reliability, operational performance and compliance while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Ensure the safe operation, maintenance and performance of all marine systems.
* Work with technical teams and provide expert guidance on system operation and upgrades.
* Plan and oversee system installation, refit and upgrade projects, including involvement in user testing.
* Implement preventive maintenance schedules.
* Manage budgets and supplier relationships.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
* Support data analysis and reporting activities.
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement in marine systems.
* Support training on marine systems.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a proactive and technically minded individual with a keen interest in marine systems, technology and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships, analyse information, solve problems and support the delivery of reliable and efficient marine operations.

Skills and experience required:

* Ability to gain a working knowledge of Forth Ports Marine Systems and proficiency in relevant IT packages.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Power BI, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new marine systems.
* Ability to support data analysis and reporting activities, including extracting, interpreting and presenting information from marine systems to inform operational and compliance requirements.
* Willingness to develop an understanding of Port and River Byelaws, General Directions and other relevant statutory and operational information.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical teams, suppliers, and operational partners, supported by clear and accurate technical reporting.
* Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive, detail-focused approach to planning, prioritising workloads, and driving efficient systems performance and improvement.
* Full right to work in the UK
* Full driving licence, valid in the UK.
