Mobile Gas Engineer
Location: Swindon (role covers Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Oxford, Reading, Slough, Hemel)

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Gas Engineer to deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of commercial properties in the South West and surrounding areas.
You will be responsible for ensuring gas, heating, and HVAC systems are installed, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards, delivering a safe and efficient service for clients.
This is a hands-on, mobile role requiring flexibility, technical expertise, and a commitment to professional service.
Job Description
This role requires a proactive and solutions-focused approach, undertaking both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks while supporting client needs across multiple sites.
You will act as a trusted engineer on-site, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, gas safety standards, and company protocols. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial gas and heating systems within FM or building services environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver planned and reactive maintenance for commercial combustion, heating, and HVAC systems.
* Undertake installations, repairs, and fault-finding for gas and heating systems, both major and minor.
* Conduct routine maintenance and PPM tasks to ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.
* Provide out-of-hours callout response according to client rotas, resolving issues promptly.
* Perform general building services maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, and associated tasks.
* Ensure all work complies with statutory regulations, Gas Safe requirements, and company standards.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, installations, and compliance checks.
* Collaborate with clients, contractors, and colleagues to support operational and project requirements.
* Promote safe working practices, adhering to H&S regulations, risk assessments, and company procedures.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Significant experience in commercial gas, combustion, heating systems, and building services maintenance.
* Proven track record in reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within FM or commercial property environments.
* Qualified in Commercial Core Gas: COCN1 or CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CIGA1.
* Qualified in Domestic Core Gas: CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1.
* City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing, HVAC, or related Mechanical Engineering discipline.
* Gas Safe Registered.
* IPAF / PASMA certified.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple sites, and respond effectively to client requirements.
