ICT Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Automation)
We’re looking for a forward-thinking ICT Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Automation) to join our team based in Nazeing.
You’ll be at the heart of infrastructure operations, identifying automation opportunities and building powerful tools that make systems smarter and teams more efficient. From scripting and deployment to monitoring and incident response, your work will shape the future of how IT services are delivered.
You’ll also play a key role in monitoring and maintaining infrastructure, ensuring systems remain reliable, secure, and compliant. Acting as an escalation point, you’ll handle complex 2nd and 3rd line support tickets, perform regular updates and patching, and troubleshoot challenging issues to deliver long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Automation Development: Identify inefficiencies and design automation solutions using tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
* Incident & Problem Management: Automate detection, triage, and resolution processes, and contribute to root cause analysis through preventative automation.
* Change & Configuration Management: Develop automated workflows for patching and infrastructure changes using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Intune.
* Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Infrastructure Operations, Service Desk, and Field Services teams to embed automation into day-to-day workflows and promote best practices.
* Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear documentation and provide training to support adoption, consistency, and continuous improvement across teams.
About You
You’re not just technically skilled — you’re a problem solver, innovator, and collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong technical expertise combined with a service-driven mindset and a passion for continual improvement.
* Demonstrable 2nd and 3rd line support experience, with a strong focus on automation
* Hands-on experience with Office 365, Azure, PowerShell scripting, and workflow automation
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Customer-focused, process-driven, and detail-oriented
* Resilient under pressure, accountable, and committed to infrastructure stability
* Familiarity with ITIL best practices
If your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we still encourage you to apply — you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
