Are you a compassionate, resilient, and adaptable individual looking to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives? We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work within a supportive Alternative Provision (AP) setting that caters for students experiencing mental health challenges and, in some cases, long-term illness.
This is a unique and rewarding role where no two days are the same. While some work will take place within the school setting, you may also be required to support students across multiple sites, including hospitals or community-based environments. Flexibility, empathy, and a proactive approach are essential.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support to students who may be unable to access mainstream education. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment that supports both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
2. Providing one-to-one or small group support
3. Assisting with personalised learning plans
4. Supporting students in a variety of settings, including off-site locations
5. Building positive, trusting relationships with students

6. Experience working with young people (education, care, youth work, or similar)
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
8. Patience, resilience, and a calm, supportive approach
9. Flexibility to work across different settings
10. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
