Job Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support. The role plays a crucial part in delivering the highest standards of service to maintain customer plants and equipment as installed on site under maintenance and service contracts. Objectives include maximizing technician productivity, enhancing the customer experience, and improving operational technical processes.
Key Responsibilities
 * Diagnose system problems when servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and customer site visits.
 * Attend customer sites to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Customer Breakdowns, Warranty work, Hire, and Commissioning workloads.
 * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
 * Collaborate with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations Teams to share key customer insights.
 * Use cutting‑edge software and technology, along with hand‑tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
 * Generate regular reports on completed invoiced work orders.
 * Communicate with supervisors, regional service managers, senior technicians, and customers to provide updates and drive continuous improvement.
Internal Controls and Administration
 * Proven experience in a service or field‑based technician role.
 * Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
 * Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate technicians to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
 * Effective communication skills.
 * Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
 * Proficiency in diagnostic software, Apps, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities
 * Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is an advantage.
 * Positive mindset with strong people and communication skills.
 * Ability to work with minimal supervision.
 * Appropriate skilled‑based certificates with F‑Gas.
 * Availability for standby and call‑outs on a scheduled basis, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
 * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
 * UK driver’s licence (a company vehicle will be allocated).
 * Right to work in the UK.
