Role Summary
An innovative and motivated Robotics Software Engineer is sought to join an emerging technology product development team. This engineering role plays a key part in implementing robotic technologies into existing products by designing, modifying, and deploying software solutions across multiple platforms.
As part of a globally distributed team, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, including manufacturing and test teams, to ensure delivery of reliable, high‑quality robotic systems. This role contributes directly to the advancement of next‑generation industrial automation solutions.
Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and integrate robotic control software for vehicle control and communication within an embedded development environment
* Simulate, verify, and test developed software to ensure compliance with technical requirements
* Derive system‑level and component‑level requirements from higher‑level platform requirements
* Collaborate with global software engineering teams to develop efficient, cost‑effective electrical, electronic, and software architectures
* Design, release, and support engineering solutions to meet targets for quality, reliability, performance, and cost
* Provide technical support to manufacturing, sourcing, marketing, and aftermarket teams in relation to vehicle control systems
* Lead code and design reviews
* Manage technical development activities with external technology suppliers
* Mentor and support early‑career engineers
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (with embedded software focus) and at least four years of relevant engineering experience or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (with embedded software focus)
Minimum Requirements
* Strong development experience with C/C++
* Experience working with robotic sensors and SLAM technologies
* Experience with embedded control systems, electrical systems, and networked communications
* Familiarity with CAN‑based communication systems (e.g. J1939, CANopen) preferred
* Knowledge of Wi‑Fi and/or cellular communication technologies
* Experience developing in a model‑based environment (e.g. Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow)
* Interest in industrial equipment sectors such as automation, automotive, construction, or similar
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated innovation, troubleshooting ability, and structured problem‑solving
* High attention to detail and adherence to quality and documentation standards
* Sound technical judgement and decision‑making capability
* Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, team‑based environments
* Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%)
