Summary of Role
To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the construction site, directly influencing the successful delivery of a large architectural package of works at Deeside (Shotton Paper Mill). The role reports directly to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
* Site Supervision: Managing day‑to‑day site activities to maintain safe and efficient work.
* Safety Management: Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations; conducting regular site inspections.
* Workforce Coordination: Supervising workers and subcontractors, assigning tasks, ensuring materials and tools are available.
* Quality Control: Monitoring construction activities to meet standards and specifications; performing regular inspections.
* Scheduling & Planning: Creating and maintaining project schedules, coordinating trades, adjusting plans for delays.
* Material Management: Overseeing delivery, storage, and use of materials; preventing damage or loss.
* Problem‑Solving: Identifying and resolving delays, technical problems, or resource shortages.
* Communication: Serving as primary on‑site contact; liaising with managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
* Documentation & Reporting: Keeping accurate logs, progress reports, and incident reports; providing updates to stakeholders.
* Leadership & Management: Leading a team to ensure collaboration and productivity.
* Technical Knowledge: In‑depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
* Attention to Detail: Ensuring all project aspects meet quality and regulatory standards.
* Time Management: Managing time and resources to meet deadlines.
* Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Must Haves
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* CSCS Card
* NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or similar)
* First Aid at Work certification
* 10 years of interior finishes experience
* Trade background preferred
