On behalf of The Department for Transport, we are looking for a Sustainability and Climate Reporting Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 3 month hybrid contract based one day per week in Southampton.
Within the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, (MCA) the role of the Sustainability and Climate Reporting Analyst is to:
. Support and assist in the generation of compliance activities and data collection including end of year annual reporting to satisfy TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure) phase 3 and FReM (Government Financial Reporting Manual) requirements .
. To assist with the development of Geospatial data system (QGIS) to support climate risk assessment and analysis for the Climate Adaptation Plan.
. Support and assist the Environment and Sustainability Lead in collating and analysing of data and information to meet all TCFD and FReM reporting requirements
. Providing support to the Environment and Sustainability Lead to ensure delivery of reporting requirements and Sustainability Strategy objectives against deadlines through working with partners across the MCA.
The TCFD Phase 3 reporting requires more extensive action and reporting than phase 2 and systems and processes need to be in place to be able to meet TCFD and FReM compliance requirements.
Key skills and experience:
. An understanding of climate-related risks and opportunities and their assessment.
. Utilisation and development of geospatial systems to support climate risk assessment (eg QGIS).
. Collation of energy data from multiple sources for annual reporting against the Greening Government Commitment requirements.
. Experience of handling Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions data and subsequent reporting.
. An understanding of Sustainability Reporting Standards (eg TCFD) and Public Sector Sustainability Reporting Requirements (eg FReM).
Nice to have skills:
. Power BI reporting experience.
. Membership of Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) or other relevant professional bodies.
