An exciting opportunity has arisen at MSE for a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Vascular Service. The successful applicant will work across both Basildon and Southend sites of Mid and South Essex Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Vascular Service seeks a highly motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to support the Vascular multi-disciplinary team in providing high‑quality care. The role requires excellent communication, a good understanding of change management, and a flexible approach to working.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing care, education and support for individuals with vascular conditions as both inpatients and outpatients.
* Autonomously assess vascular inpatients and outpatients, including initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
* Develop and implement clinical management plans, advising on necessary medication in collaboration with medical teams.
* Liaise with multi‑disciplinary teams (MDT), GP and community teams to promote a holistic and personalised approach to care.
* Support the Lead Vascular CNS to deliver the MSEFT Vascular service and contribute to service improvement.
* Demonstrate critical thinking, safe senior clinical decision‑making and adherence to policy and procedure.
* Work as an integral part of the MDT at the Arterial Hub – Basildon Hospital and the network site.
Required Skills & Experience
* Experienced registered nurse with a background in vascular care.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
* Good understanding of change management and flexible working approach.
* Commitment to improving the quality of patient care and proactive leadership.
* Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team and drive collaboration across sites.
