Graduate English Teacher (Cover Supervisor)
Location: Darlington
Salary: £(Apply online only) per day (salary depends on experience and/or qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025 - ongoing
The School and Role
We collaborate with Secondary Schools in the Darlington area. Our partner schools are seeking candidates to work as Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on daily supply or in longer fixed-term supply contracts.
As a Graduate English Teacher, you will lead lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will cover classes across the secondary school subjects, although you are not expected to be a subject specialist in all areas. Lessons will be planned and provided in advance. Your role includes facilitating learning, managing classroom behaviour, recording accurate registers, and providing a handover to the absent teacher. Successful candidates are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, organized, and passionate about education and supporting young people.
This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in a secondary school setting before applying for Initial Teacher Training. Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
If you are new to the role, a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme will be provided to develop your skills. Visit our website for more information or send us your CV, and one of our consultants will contact you.
