Overview
SEN Teacher - Autism (Grade 3 or 4) - Maternity Cover at Together Trust. This role is a 12-month maternity cover for an experienced ASC teacher to work with the Adventurers and Pioneers cohort at Inscape House School, a specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 on the autistic spectrum.
Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle, Stockport. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Employment type: Temporary contract (maternity cover).
Base pay range
Grade 3: £34,653.00 per year. Grade 4: £41,490.00 per year. Salary depends on experience. Talk with your recruiter to learn more.
What you will need to succeed
* Qualified teacher status (QTS)
* Experience of working with children who are autistic
* Excellent knowledge of the Curriculum including, where appropriate, Entry Level, Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications
* High level of personal resilience
* Knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
Responsibilities
Depending on skills and experience, the role may be offered at Grade 3 or Grade 4. The duties listed below reflect both grades; the final grade will be confirmed on offer.
Grade 3
* Understand the engagement model and EYFS framework.
* Understand National Curriculum requirements and adapt these to plan teaching and learning for pupils following a pre/semi-formal curriculum.
* Adapt the teaching of the National Curriculum to meet the varying learning needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions and learning disabilities.
* Develop high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge, academically and socially.
* Create and maintain a high level of accountability on EAs for learning and development of academic and social skills throughout the school day.
Grade 4
* Demonstrate a proven track record of pupils making outstanding progress through excellent teaching and subject pedagogy.
* Strong experience of working with students with autism and other associated learning difficulties.
* Create and maintain a high level of accountability on EAs for learning and development of academic and social skills throughout the school day.
* Complete human resource processes with a team of EAs (return to work from absence, professional discussions/supervision, professional development reviews and performance management, including target setting).
* Deliver training in your subject area at the request of the Senior Leadership Team.
