This role is within our Property Services pillar, ULPS, which revitalizes homes and communities through regeneration projects, working with social housing providers and ensuring high safety standards.
Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee all design and technical aspects of projects, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule. Responsibilities include managing external consultants, coordinating with internal teams, ensuring design compliance, leading technical processes, and managing project-specific design programs.
Key duties involve technical design management, reviewing bids, assessing design quality, managing design programs, overseeing procurement, and ensuring compliance with regulations, including CDM Principal Designer and Building Regulations roles. The role requires thorough design reviews, coordination of external consultants, managing design packages, overseeing site visits, and ensuring documentation and approvals are complete for project handover.

* Experience managing design and technical processes for residential buildings
* Up-to-date knowledge of construction legislation and procedures
* Valid driving license
* Strong communication skills
* High-rise development experience
* Understanding of building safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
* Technical knowledge to assess and monitor design compliance
* Experience in designer scoping
Desirable qualifications include a passion for construction, knowledge of procurement and design programs, experience with fire risk assessments and BIM, and professional memberships such as CIOB, CIAT, or RICS. An architectural qualification or equivalent is preferred.
