Enterprise Applications Architect
Full Time - Chiswick, West London, Hybrid
About the role
Due to significant growth within BSI, driven by large-scale, business-wide technology transformation, we are looking for an Enterprise Applications Architect to join our team.
You will report to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and work directly under the IT Strategy and Architecture Director, aligning with the company's strategic goals.
This role is pivotal in ensuring BSI maximizes the strategic benefits from technology investments by:
* Having extensive knowledge across the application lifecycle, from strategy through implementation to operations and decommissioning.
* Understanding how SaaS platforms are maintained within an application landscape.
* Possessing detailed practical knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and architecture models, standards, tools, and techniques.
* Being familiar with the organisation's IT strategy, policies, standards, and risk assessment, change management, and reliability methods.
* Communicating effectively with senior leaders and project teams.
* Appreciating the importance of commercial constraints.
Responsibilities:
* Creating, iterating, and maintaining enterprise application architectures aligned with organisational principles and future state models.
* Defining how application suites and ecosystems are kept up-to-date and developing plans and roadmaps.
* Advising users on upcoming functionalities and emerging technologies.
* Assessing new and emerging technologies for their impact on BSI’s strategic goals.
* Ensuring system designs meet requirements, standards, and regulations within performance constraints.
* Developing organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for system design and promoting their adherence.
* Leading application investment and implementation strategies.
* Building application strategies based on business needs, existing capabilities, and future requirements.
* Planning transition and implementation of new applications, considering budgets, risks, and benefits.
To be successful in the role:
* Understanding strategic issues and the systems development lifecycle.
* Having practical knowledge of IT infrastructure and development methods.
* Familiar with IT strategy, policies, standards, and risk management.
* Skilled in project risk management.
* Demonstrating analytical ability, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
* Possessing strong technical, business, and communication skills.
* Possessing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a Certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture (Practitioner).
