As Business Finance Controller, you will play a key role in driving commercial performance across the business. You will partner closely with senior operational and commercial leaders to provide insight, challenge, and forward-looking analysis that supports profitable growth and informed decision-making.
Alongside strong financial control and reporting, this role has a clear focus on understanding performance drivers, improving margins, and supporting commercial outcomes across the organisation. This position is offered on a 9-month fixed term contract.
Key responsibilities
1. Act as a finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders, supporting performance improvement and decision-making
2. Provide forward-looking financial analysis, insight, and challenge to identify risks, opportunities, and margin improvement initiatives
3. Support pricing, cost management, and profitability analysis across the business
4. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, clearly articulating drivers and variances
5. Take ownership of the business P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and control
6. Lead month-end processes, delivering timely and accurate management accounts
7. Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and Schindler financial policies
8. Support continuous improvement of financial reporting, tools, and processes
9. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment
10. Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
11. Proven experience in a commercial finance, finance business partnering, or controlling role
12. Strong experience managing P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting
13. Demonstrated ability to provide commercial insight and challenge to non-finance stakeholders
14. Solid working knowledge of IFRS and financial governance
15. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; Power BI or similar tools desirable
16. Experience working in a structured, matrix environment
