Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, financing agreements, and partnership documents. Ensure compliance with UK regulations and international laws applicable to the organization’s operations. Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, and best‑practice guidelines to mitigate legal risk. Oversee dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations. Manage relationships with external counsel, regulators, and other key stakeholders. Provide training and mentorship to junior legal staff and other employees on legal and compliance matters. Monitor legislative developments and advise on potential impact to the business. Support corporate governance activities, including board meetings, shareholder communications, and statutory filings. Essential Qualifications Qualified solicitor or barrister with a current practising certificate (or equivalent legal qualification). Strong knowledge of UK corporate, commercial, and financial law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements and manage high‑stakes negotiations. Demonstrated leadership and team‑management capabilities. High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Desired Experience Minimum 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience in a corporate law environment, preferably within the financial services sector. Experience leading a legal department or managing a team of lawyers and support staff. Track record of handling cross‑border transactions and regulatory matters.
