We are looking for a passionate and creative Cafe Chef to lead the kitchen operations of our cafe. You will be responsible for crafting a delicious menu, preparing high-quality dishes, and ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen. The ideal candidate has experience with cafe-style cuisine, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and present cafe-style meals, including breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
* Create seasonal menus and specials that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control waste to maintain food cost targets.
* Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff (if applicable).
* Ensure consistency in food presentation and quality.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service.
* Handle food allergies and dietary restrictions appropriately.
* Maintain equipment and report any maintenance issues.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a cafe or casual dining setting.
* Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
* Strong understanding of food safety practices.
* Creativity and a passion for food.
* Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
