This is a hands-on, detail-driven role working on the strip, build, inspection and development of prototype and pre-production transmission systems. Prototype Build Technician Responsibilities Strip, build, assemble and inspect prototype transmissions in line with build manuals and engineering instruction. Investigate and fault-find build issues, manufacturing defects and mechanical failures. Strip and assess unfamiliar or one-off transmission assemblies without existing build documentation. Apply a deep understanding of transmission architecture, component function and driveline systems. Install instrumentation, sensors and bespoke modifications on test units as directed by engineering. Identify, raise and report build concerns; support engineering with structured problem-solving (including 8D). Follow all part-picking, kitting, storage and inventory processes.
