* Skills & Experience:
* - 3-5+ years of experience in building enterprise Power BI datasets and dashboards.
* - Strong DAX and semantic modeling expertise (including calc groups, conformed dimensions, and role-playing dimensions).
* - Proficient SQL skills and comfortable working with Databricks Gold-layer tables.
* - Proven experience in optimizing dataset performance (specifically aggregations, incremental refresh, and DQ/Import).
* - Familiarity with Git-based modeling workflows and PR reviews using Tabular Editor.
* - Excellent design intuition, with an eye for clean layouts, drill paths, and KPI logic.
* Nice to Have:
* - Experience with Python for automation or ad-hoc preparation; familiarity with PySpark.
* - Understanding of Lakehouse patterns, Delta Lake, and metadata-driven pipelines.
* - Experience with Unity Catalog / Purview for lineage and governance.
* - RLS/OLS implementation experience.
Responsibilities:
* In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
* Semantic Modeling:
* - Utilize PBIP and Git for building and maintaining enterprise-level datasets that are fully version-controlled.
* - Use Tabular Editor 3 for DAX, metadata modeling, calculation groups, and object governance.
* - Manage branching, pull requests, and releases through Azure DevOps.
* Lakehouse-Aligned Reporting:
* - Design and develop semantic models solely on top of curated Gold Databricks tables.
* - Collaborate with Data Engineering on schema design and contract-first modeling.
* - Ensure consistent dimensional modeling aligned with the enterprise Bus Matrix.
* High-Performance Power BI Engineering:
* - Optimize performance through aggregations, composite models, incremental refresh, and DQ/Import strategies.
* - Fine-tune Databricks SQL Warehouse queries for enhanced speed and cost efficiency.
* - Monitor PPU capacity performance, refresh reliability, and dataset health.
* Governance, Security, and Standards:
* - Implement RLS/OLS, establish naming conventions, and define KPIs and calculation groups.
* - Apply dataset certification, endorsements, and governance metadata.
* - Align semantic models with lineage and security policies across the Azure/Databricks estate.
* Lifecycle, Release & Best Practice Delivery:
* - Utilize Power BI Deployment Pipelines for moving content from Dev to UAT and then to Production.
* - Enforce semantic CI/CD patterns using PBIP, Git, and Tabular Editor.
* - Build reusable, certified datasets and dataflows to support scalable self-service BI.
* Adoption, UX & Collaboration:
* - Design intuitive dashboards that provide a consistent user experience across various business functions.
* - Support BI adoption through training, documentation, and best-practice guidance.
* - Utilize telemetry to track usage and performance, improving the overall user experience.
