* As we continue to grow our reach and impact, we are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Officer to strengthen our online presence and engage audiences across multiple platforms.
Position: Social Media Officer, Voluntary Role
Location: Manchester, UK
Commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours per week, with availability over summer.

About the Role
* The Social Media Officer will lead the organisation's digital communications strategy, helping to showcase our research, events, and opportunities to a wider audience. Working closely with the Executive Committee and research teams, you will transform policy ideas into engaging and accessible content.
* This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in communications, public policy, journalism, or political campaigning.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a consistent social media strategy.
* Manage the Institute's accounts across platforms.
* Create engaging graphics, short-form videos, and written content promoting research and events.
* Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments and messages where appropriate.
Person Specification
* Availability over summer period
* Current student at the University of Manchester (graduating 2027 or later)
* Excellent written communication skills in English.
* Experience creating/managing websites.
* Ability to produce engaging content tailored to different audiences.
* Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a student-led team.
* Experience managing organisational social media accounts.
* Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design software.
* Previous involvement in student societies, charities, or think tanks.
