Planning Officer/ Senior Planning Officer – Highways Band E/F – Candidates can be recruited at either band level dependent on experience Solihull has an excellent opportunity for a Planning Officer / Senior Planning Officer to join our Highways team. You will be responsible for assessing development plans, responding to consultations on planning applications and providing advice on transportation matters to a range of stakeholders. You will Assess transportation implications of planning applications on behalf of the Local Authority. Provide pre-application advice to developers when plans are at an early stage. Visit sites to gain a clear understanding of the implications of new development and possible solutions Agree any changes to highways and transport networks needed to accommodate new development. Attend Planning Committee, appeals and other meetings as required. You will be either a qualified planning professional or have a relevant degree with experience in the field and will be required to carry site visits and committee meetings as required.
