A great opportunity has arisen to undertake a PATH Traineeship with Leeds Youth Justice Service. The ‘PATH Yorkshire Internship training programme’ is a Positive Action Training Project with the objective of addressing the under-representation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. Applicants for the traineeship must be from BAME backgrounds.

Leeds Youth Justice Service work with children aged 10 to 17 years who have offended and help to prevent them getting into further trouble. Our role with children can be on a statutory or non-statutory basis. The Youth Justice Service also work with a variety of organisations, parents and carers:


Responsibilities

* To provide services to a wide range of children who offend or who are at risk of offending.
* To plan, develop, co-ordinate and deliver programmes of focused work to young people on a group and individual basis, including those subject to intensive supervision.
* To work with the families of children who offend to improve outcomes for the family.
* To work in a restorative manner with children and their families, with high challenge and high support.
* To work in an anti-oppressive manner, promoting equality and ensuring that diversity issues are addressed.
* To take account of the views and interests of victims and the wider community.
* Support children to build on their strengths.

Working Hours 37 hours weekly

Traineeship12 months placement
