About the role
As a Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you'll be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers’ homes. This non-driver role offers a great opportunity for those looking to develop their career in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will need to complete a 13-week Porter training program, after which you'll be qualified to install products including wet connections, TV, and Audio Installations. At the end of the 13 weeks, you will be assessed to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Once fully trained, start your day at the delivery hub before heading out on route, where your responsibilities will include:
* Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as your priority.
* Helping load your lorry with the day's deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
* Demonstrating respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best solution.
* Installing products efficiently and demonstrating their use to customers.
* Keeping up to date with new products and technologies.
* Maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience
* Ability to cope with physical requirements, such as delivering large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience with white goods installation or furniture building.
Full-time, 41 hours per week, working across seven days between 06:00 - 17:00.
