Deputy Service Manager – Blackpool Horizon Drug & Alcohol Service Change Grow Live, in partnership with Empowerment & Renaissance We’re proud to launch a brand‑new, community‑focused drug and alcohol service for Blackpool — delivered by Change Grow Live (CGL) working in partnership with Empowerment and Renaissance. As we build this new service, we are looking for an exceptional Deputy Service Manager to help shape, lead and deliver a high‑quality, recovery‑focused offer for the people of Blackpool. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new partnership from day one, influencing culture, practice and service quality across the whole system. Location: Blackpool Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week Full time Salary: £44,471.72 – £48,906.23* per annum, pro rata Contract: Permanent Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About the Role As Deputy Service Manager, you will play a central leadership role in the development and delivery of an integrated community drug and alcohol treatment model. You will support the Service Manager in driving a recovery‑focused, outcome‑driven culture, working closely with Team Leaders and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will oversee: Delivery of a broad range of interventions including 1:1 psychosocial work, group programmes, harm reduction, medically assisted recovery, community detoxification, family support, young people’s services and criminal justice pathways. Performance management, data quality, reporting and analysis across the service. Strong partnership working with commissioning bodies, subcontracted partners, statutory agencies and community organisations. High‑quality governance, risk management, safeguarding and audit processes. Staff leadership including line management, supervision, coaching, development and succession planning. Service user involvement, feedback and co‑production. This is a dynamic, hands‑on management role requiring a balance of operational leadership, quality oversight and strategic input. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a confident, experienced leader who can inspire teams, maintain excellent partnerships and drive high‑quality delivery. You will have: Extensive experience working at management level within substance misuse, alcohol, drug or criminal justice services. Strong understanding of performance management, governance, quality frameworks and CQC standards. Proven ability to manage staff teams, volunteers and sessional workers effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, motivate and engage partners and stakeholders. Experience of service development, project leadership and risk management. A commitment to equality, diversity, non‑judgemental practice and positive outcomes for service users. The ability to remain calm under pressure, work flexibly and respond to the needs of a busy operational service. This role requires high integrity, professional curiosity, and a genuine passion for improving lives.
