Audit Senior Walsall £35000 - £40000Butler Rose, Public Practice is delighted to be supporting our client on their search for an Audit Senior. Currently the firm consists of 30 staff members and they are looking to expand. The Audit Senior leads audit engagements from planning through to completion. You will manage audit teams, ensure high-quality audit delivery, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to handle complex audit issues. Role Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
* Develop audit plans and risk assessments tailored to each client's business and industry.
* Supervise, mentor, and review the work of Audit Semi-Seniors and Juniors, providing guidance and feedback.
* Perform detailed audit testing, including complex areas such as revenue recognition, provisions, and financial instruments.
* Analyse financial statements and key performance indicators to identify risks and anomalies.
* Communicate audit findings effectively to client management and audit managers.
* Prepare and review audit documentation, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
* Assist in drafting audit reports, management letters, and recommendations for improvement.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on accounting and control matters.
* Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, auditing practices, and regulatory requirements.
* Support business development activities, including identifying opportunities for additional services.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodology, tools, and team performance.
Personal Responsibilities:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) preferred or completed.
* Typically 4-6 years of relevant audit experience, including leadership roles.
* Deep understanding of accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and auditing frameworks.
* Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and client management skills.
* Proficiency in audit and accounting software, and advanced MS Excel skills.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment:
* Combination of office work and client site visits - Travel will be reimbursed
