Annual Salary: Excellent salary plus benefits (Pension plan etc) to be discussed at full interview stage.
Working Location: Office based with expectation of worldwide travel for vessel inspections / repair works.
We are currently searching for a HSEQ Superintendent to add to our team.
Role & Responsibilities
* Coordination of vetting activities and maintaining vetting records.
* Perform shipboard ISM, ISPS audits to achieve and maintain accreditation in accordance with legislative requirements.
* Perform mooring, cargo and navigational audits as required.
* Incident investigations and preparing associated report(s).
* Ensure company vessels are operated safely in compliance with local and international regulatory and statutory maritime frameworks such as but not limited to: ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, etc.
* Responding to and closing out near miss reports as required.
* Reviewing risk assessments and updating as required.
* Provide support to vessels with all Marine matters including cargo and tank cleaning.
* Review and approve Marine item purchase orders.
* Respond to screening requests on an urgent basis.
Qualifications
* Several years’ experience as HSEQ superintendent and served on board as Chief Officer / Master.
* The ability to prioritise tasks and to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* An enthusiastic approach, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* Outstanding problem-solving capabilities.
* Target-driven and highly motivated, able to work under pressure.
* Solutions focused approach and mindset.
* Ability to act on own initiative, strong problem-solver.
* Team-working and agile approach to work environment.
* Supportive and cooperative work ethic with all colleagues.
Due to the requirements of the job, the successful candidate will be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of Glasgow.
