A special provision in Swindon is seeking a resilient graduate to join their team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant. Many of the pupils struggle with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and often exhibit anti-social and challenging behaviours. You will help mentor, guide and engage pupils, helping to steer them away from negative influences and towards positive life choices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify the needs and risks of each pupil.
* Help students develop emotional resilience and positive coping strategies.
* Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to prevent anti-social behaviours.
* Build strong, positive relationships with pupils.
* Assist teachers in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Support mentoring, interventions and therapeutic strategies tailored to each student.
