Bank Decontamination Technician | Ashtead Hospital | Bank Hours
The role
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who have experience in decontamination of re-usable medical devices or have completed a recognised decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate). You will be responsible for the full decontamination cycle of re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments), ensuring the highest standards in line with all Ramsay policies and procedures. You will participate fully in quality control processes, ensuring procedures and documentation are completed accurately at all times.
* Undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialised decontamination service for medical devices, contributing to patient care.
* Carry out receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilization of reusable medical devices. Record all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.
* Work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
* Provide supervision to Apprentice/Trainee Decontamination Technicians within the team.
* Plan your workload with limited supervision.
* Coordinate shift activities as required in the absence of the Decontamination Technician Supervisor.
