George.com remains Asda’s fastest growing arm of the business and increasingly plays a pivotal role within Asda’s £3bn clothing & general merchandise operation.
Role Overview
You will work within a fast-paced environment, managing a wide network of commercial & operational stakeholders to support commercial growth and a sustainable economic model. You will collaborate with the Clothing & GM Trading & Ecommerce teams, supporting strategic decision making and providing insights into all aspects of commercial performance. You will business partner the George.com Senior Director and manage a full P&L including sales, GP, and costs like delivery and marketing.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver the 2025 plan in partnership with leadership, ensuring targets are met.
2. Own reporting & forecasting for George.com net profitability and EBITDA, presenting findings during monthly reviews.
3. Lead the 3-year strategic planning, ensuring alignment with corporate principles.
4. Build business cases for capex investments, supporting decision making aligned with the 3-year plan.
5. Enhance performance management through improved forecast accuracy and planning.
6. Drive efficiency and cost savings initiatives, tracking delivery.
7. Support cross-functional collaboration to improve forecast alignment and accountability.
8. Collaborate across finance to obtain key data and drive results.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with an interest in retail.
* Experience in commercial finance, confident in setting agendas.
* Inquisitive with a desire to understand interconnected processes.
* Growth mindset, eager for personal and technical development.
* Excellent relationship-building skills.
* Proactive, with ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Ability to operate within a customer-focused leadership team.
