We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join Mole Energy, a fast-growing and innovative part of Mole Valley Farmers. This is a senior role where you’ll go beyond reporting numbers, you’ll provide insight, influence decisions, and drive improvements that enhance profitability and efficiency.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: This role is open to both full-time and part-time applications
Location: Totnes, TQ9 7DY
As Finance Manager, you’ll lead financial planning, compliance, and reporting, while championing process improvements and cost efficiencies. You’ll also mentor a small team and work closely with senior stakeholders to shape business performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading monthly period-end processes and delivering accurate, insightful reporting
* Driving annual budgeting and forecasting
* Managing cash flow and day-to-day transactional finance functions
* Ensuring compliance with VAT, CIS, and PSA legislation and overseeing statutory audits
* Producing annual statutory accounts and managing credit control
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency
* Building strong relationships across the business and mentoring the Finance Assistant
About You
* Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years’ experience
* Previous experience managing a small team
* Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance processes
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and confident in explaining financial information to non-financial colleagues
* Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive approach
