The School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint Lecturers in Psychology (Teaching & Research) to join our collegiate and research-active staff team. The appointed individual will deliver high quality teaching and project supervision to students on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and will help us build on our success in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (in which we climbed 10 places in the rankings) by conducting excellent research and building a research group to support this. Applications are sought from those with a teaching and research profile who are able to complement and build on our areas of teaching and research strength, in areas related to health psychology, or developmental psychopathology, or environmental sustainability, or forensic, or criminal psychology. We also encourage candidates with interdisciplinary research agendas, those who employ TMS and MRI methods within the unique multimodal human neuroscience capabilities of the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN), or our clinical facilities most notably the Anxiety and Depression in Young People (AnDY) Research Clinic. The positions are available on a full-time (or part-time) permanent basis from 1 st April 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will have: a PhD in psychology or a related discipline specialist expertise, particularly in one of the identified areas listed above a record of high-quality publications commensurate with their career stage demonstrable potential to win external grant funding experience of teaching or supervision to a high standard at university level commensurate with their career stage a passion for supporting an excellent student experience a commitment to professionalism in undertaking all your responsibilities and in your interactions with colleagues and students.
