About the role:
This is a hands-on and pivotal role in the production team, where no two days look the same. You’ll independently manage the technical delivery of small and medium-sized live events, while supporting larger and more complex productions alongside senior colleagues. The role reports into the Head of Technical and works alongside one other Technical Production Manager and two Senior Production Managers. The Seniors take responsibility for the larger, complex events with support from the TPMs. There is also one junior technical PM. You will also work closely with the Project Management team who take ownership of the overall end to end event delivery.
You’ll oversee everything from initial brief and technical solution through to live delivery and post-event reconciliation. You’ll be the go-to expert for suppliers, equipment, schedules, onsite execution and problem-solving, ensuring every project is delivered to the highest possible standard. You will get to travel for UK site checks and events and support the team at international events approx. once or twice per year. The role comes with remuneration for any weekend working (for the event day/days) and time in lieu for post 10-hour shifts.
Specifically:
• Manage the full technical production process from brief through to onsite delivery and de-rig
• Build technical solutions, budgets and proposals that help win new business
• Coordinate suppliers, freelancers, venues and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery
• Prepare technical plans for elements of the event, including CAD drawings, equipment lists, rigging and H&S documentation
• Manage project budgets, supplier spend and post-event reconciliations
• Use internal systems such as Procim and HireTrack to manage projects and equipment requirements
• Identify equipment shortfalls and source cost-effective solutions through cross-hire partners
• Support the delivery of virtual and hybrid events including platforms, schedules and stakeholder briefings
• Attend site visits and lead technical planning meetings where required
• Take ownership onsite, managing crews and troubleshooting issues quickly and calmly
• Maintain the highest health & safety and compliance standards throughout delivery
• Support wider business needs including supplier sourcing, logistics and internal event spaces
About you:
• A proven Technical Production Manager with experience delivering live events end-to-end. If you have experience in corporate events, music, festival, theatre in a Technical PM capacity we would like to hear from you.
• Background in production across disciplines such as audio, video, lighting, LED and streaming
• Strong technical knowledge of AV equipment and production workflows
• Experience using CAD software such as Vectorworks
Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and negotiating suppliers
• Calm under pressure and confident leading onsite teams and solving problems in real time
• A strong communicator who builds trust with clients, venues and internal teams alike
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple fast-moving projects at once
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
