Job overview
We are looking for a Band 7 Audiologist or Clinical Scientist (Audiology) to join the paediatric audiology team at Oxford University Hospitals on a fixed term basis for 1 year to cover maternity leave. This post is funded at 0.53 WTE (19.8 hrs/week) and offers an ideal opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Audiologist / Clinical Scientist to develop their leadership, management and advanced clinical skills. You will be working alongside other team leaders and reporting to the Head of Paediatric Audiology.

In addition, the post carries line‑management responsibility. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Paediatric Audiology in developing the service. You will be expected to supervise, coach and mentor junior members of staff to ensure a consistently high quality clinical service is provided. You will have highly developed skills in undertaking developmentally appropriate audiological assessments in children of all ages, including those considered non‑routine. Experience of performing ABRs following referral from NHSP is desirable.

You would be joining a large team comprising Audiologists, Assistant Audiologists, Clinical Scientists (Audiology), Hearing Therapists and administrative colleagues. We are actively involved in training and have colleagues on degree apprenticeship, PTP and STP programmes, all staff having regular CPD opportunities. The service has undergone significant development over recent years and is actively working towards IQIPS accreditation.
