HaysEducation is recruiting passionate and knowledgeable Physics Teachers to work across a variety of secondary schools in Swindon. These roles are available on a temporary basis, offering both day-to-day cover and longer-term assignments depending on your availability and preferences. As a Hays Cover Teacher, you’ll have the flexibility to work in different school environments while making a meaningful impact on students’ understanding of world religions, ethics, and philosophy.
Your new role
You’ll be teaching Physics across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to support A-Level depending on experience. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
2. Plan and prepare schemes of work in line with the national curriculum
3. Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support progress
4. Use data to inform teaching and adapt strategies to meet individual learning needs
5. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment with strong behaviour management
6. Liaise with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing and achievement
What you'll need to succeed
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Proven experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting
9. Strong subject knowledge in Physics
10. Confident classroom management and ability to engage mixed-ability groups
11. Excellentmunication and organisational skills
12. A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and school life
13. Reliable transport (as the school is not easily accessible via public transport)
