What you will do: Lead Complex Negotiations: Drive the drafting and negotiation of high-value development and manufacturing services agreements (CDMO) and procurement contracts with global counterparties. Partner with the Business: Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales, Business Development, and Project Management, translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable business advice. Support Global Operations: Provide ongoing legal guidance on the operation and management of existing agreements to ensure commercial objectives are met and risks are mitigated. Enable Commercial Growth: Collaborate with the global legal team to streamline contract lifecycles and assist in the review of marketing and promotional materials. Foster Cross-Functional Relationships: Quickly establish strong networks within our UK and international departments to deeply understand Lonza’s business model and technology. Conduct Strategic Research: Stay ahead of evolving legal landscapes by researching specific issues to provide high-quality, proactive advice to stakeholders. Contribute to Team Culture: Maintain high standards and a positive attitude under tight deadlines, ensuring the legal function remains an agile and approachable partner to the business. What we are looking for: Qualified Legal Expert: You are a qualified UK Solicitor, ideally with 3–5 years’ PQE and a solid background from a reputable law firm or an in-house legal team. Commercial Specialist: Proven experience negotiating high-value, complex commercial agreements across both national and international jurisdictions. Pharma Insight: Prior experience within a pharmaceutical or biotech environment is highly desirable and will help you hit the ground running. Effective Communicator: Exceptional ability to deliver common-sense legal advice to non-lawyers and build rapport with diverse stakeholders globally.
