Overview

We are looking for an Ofsted Registered Manager for our 3 bed EBD children's residential home in Oldbury (open and running). Our aim is to offer long term residential care to children and young people aged 7-17 years old.

The role of the Registered Manager is to lead, be a role model and support a team of staff and the children they care for using a therapeutic approach. You will work under the guidance of the Responsible Individual and supervise a team of Residential and Senior Residential Support Workers to provide a good standard and good quality childcare to our children and young people.

You must be able to lead, motivate and enhance the skills of your team and be able to model professionalism and strong leadership. The children and young people can display complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, and need guidance to grow, blossom and thrive, develop their independence skills and gain the ability to integrate positively into society.

As the RM, you will have full autonomy of the children’s home whereby you will influence and lead on all areas of care the children receive. You will be thoroughly supported by the management team; we would like a RM who is strong-willed and can bring fresh, great ideas.


Purpose of the post

To complete the Ofsted registration as the registered manager and once registered be in charge of the daily management of the home, including the staff, the budget, the resources and fabric of the building, and the welfare of the children and young people, with the objective of achieving the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 including the Quality Standards. Including but not limited to;

* Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the children\'s home.
* Developing and implementing care plans for children in accordance with regulatory standards.
* Recruit, supervise and train staff members to ensure quality care is provided.
* Create a safe and nurturing environment for children.
* Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other healthcare professionals to address the individual needs of each child.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of children\'s health and progress.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in child care.

Essential Criteria

Diploma/NVQ Level 5 in Children and Young People in a residential setting (or equivalent qualification) or above or working towards or willing to undertake

NVQ Level 3 in residential childcare or equivalent.

Full UK Driving License

Experience of leading and developing a team of residential childcare staff.

Excellent knowledge of working with our Regulators (Ofsted), The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 including The Quality Standards.

Excellent knowledge of Safeguarding children and the legislation surrounding this.

A minimum of 1 year management and supervisory experience in a children/young people’s residential setting either as a DM or RM

This role requires flexibility and to form part of the homes on on-call rota

This role is subject to full safer recruitment checks which include an enhanced DBS, and references and once successful, a 6-month probationary period that includes registration with Ofsted as the Registered Manager
