Associate Mechanical Engineer - Data Centre

Role Overview: The Associate Mechanical Engineer will work on the design and development of Data Centre/Mission Critical facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute from concept development through to final commissioning in a multidisciplinary environment.
Primary Objectives:
* Assist the Group Leader in project delivery, supporting junior engineers and maintaining technical quality.
* Ensure design activities are completed on schedule and meet high standards.
* Support training and mentoring within the engineering team.
* Produce detailed HVAC designs for Data Centres, collaborating with sales, technical, and project management teams.
* Manage and develop engineering resources to meet project needs, ensuring compliance and technical excellence.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Lead engineering design from concept to detailed design.
* Maintain quality standards through internal reviews.
* Build and guide high-performing teams, setting objectives and fostering development.
* Implement QA processes across projects.
* Integrate Health and Safety standards into design, complying with CDM regulations.
* Follow Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and 14001.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
* Experience in Data Centre mechanical systems is essential.
* Minimum 6 years in engineering design and project management.
* Strong mechanical design background across project stages.
* Experience coordinating with stakeholders and disciplines.
* Proficiency in HVAC systems for critical facilities, including resilience and advanced cooling systems.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design for commercial or institutional buildings.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
* Leadership and project management experience.
* Experience within architectural/engineering or consulting firms.
