Overview
We are partnering with a leading London-based building surveying practice to grow their high-performing team. You will be based at their trophy central London offices, with fully flexible and hybrid working options. In this role, you’ll manage multiple residential surveying projects concurrently, deliver exceptional client service and drive towards billing targets.
Experience & Qualifications
* Chartered or near-chartership status (MRICS/FRICS) with demonstrated APC progress or equivalent experience
* Proven track record in building surveying across residential portfolios
* Familiarity with the JCT suite of contracts and CDM regulations, including Principal Designer responsibilities
* Experience preparing planning and building regulations applications, plus listed building consent submissions
* Background in defect diagnosis, Capex/long-term maintenance planning and technical specification development
Skills, Knowledge, Understanding and Learning
* Outstanding client liaison abilities, both face-to-face and via virtual platforms (Zoom/Microsoft Teams)
* Meticulous record-keeping using practice management systems
* Quality assurance mindset to review team deliverables against RICS guidance
* Proven networking and business development skills, contributing to fee proposals and service innovation
* Mentoring capability to support graduate surveyors through APC preparation
* Resilience for regular outdoor site work and physically demanding inspections
Main Duties
* Obtain and clarify client briefs to scope project requirements
* Maintain accurate records and compliance with RICS professional standards
* Proactively manage client relationships, ensuring transparency on progress and billing
* Prepare and issue professional reports in the company’s corporate style
* Provide quality assurance on junior team members’ work
* Support marketing and business development by contributing contacts, fee proposals and social media insights
* Deliver specialist surveying services:
* Defect diagnosis
* Capex and long-term maintenance plans
* Technical specifications and work procurement
* JCT contract administration & CDM Principal Designer duties (pre-construction information, risk assessments)
* Planning/building regulations applications & Listed building consent applications
Clients

Salary
A competitive salary package commensurate with senior or associate building surveyor benchmarks in central London, including profit share/bonus and employer pension contributions.
