CORE CONTRIBUTION:
Income tracking is a cross departmental activity involving primarily Copyright and Royalties but also the Hire Library, Creative, Promotion and Finance. The primary external contacts are the Performing Rights Organisations (PROs), affiliates and sub-publishers.
The Junior Income Tracking Analyst will contribute across all functions of the tracking department, providing support to the Income Tracking Manager UK by assisting with existing functions and processes and those developed in the future.
As income recovery is the core function of the department, the Junior Income Tracking Analyst would initially be supporting the tracking team in this area, with a view to eventually be jointly responsible for recovering income.
CORE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Live Performance
* Support the team in monitoring schedules of major concert venues to ensure royalties are collected on WMG copyrights;
* Assist in tracking key composers/events (Einaudi, The Snowman, BBC Proms etc.) and help ensure worldwide royalties are paid correctly;
* Generate yearly Hire Library reports to establish a list of all performances of WMG works, across a given year, and ensure all royalties have been paid (UK Hire Library activities for WMG works, Affiliate Hire Libraries & Hire Agents for UK Rights);
* Work alongside the promotions team to ascertain composer focused tracking, e.g. composer anniversaries, special projects, etc., verifying accurate royalty payments;
* Review tribute and candlelight concerts and check that all royalties for performances of WMG works have been distributed on a yearly basis.
Digital
* Help monitor and track digital income from top earning writers/composers/works using source statements;
* Use online tools to track digital income and compile streaming data to assist with answering ad hoc queries;
* Work closely with the Copyright and Royalties teams to check compositions are registered at Collective Management Organisations (CMOs), ensuring the royalties for digital income are processed smoothly and on time.
Physical/Online Products
* Assist in monitoring global royalties for physical and online releases featuring WMG copyrights;
* Engage with affiliates and sub-publishers to support correct registration of works and ensure accurate royalty payments are received for new releases.
Radio
* Help track daily radio playlists, supporting the team to ensure royalties are paid each quarter;
* Assist in verifying the correct royalties have been distributed for concerts aired on radio involving WMG classical repertoire, cross checking with the hire library for any classical repertoire involving hire material;
* Support the Income Tracking Manager with the audio file database/MRT project for radio detections by using additional sources like Spotify for Publishers to gather further metadata.
Film and TV/Synch
* Work closely with the Creative team to assist in tracking cue sheets and ad codes, ensuring accurate royalty payments are made for Film and TV usages;
* Collaborating with sub-publishers and affiliates to track and claim missing royalties for global Film & TV usages.
Suspense Accounts
* Assist in identifying and claiming missing royalties on WMG works held in suspense accounts;
* Help compare suspense data with distribution statements to ensure all royalties are correctly paid;
* Co-ordinate with the other Income Trackers globally to compile and aggregate the different CMOs unpaid/suspense files into the centralized Income Tracking Group location, on a quarterly basis.
SKILLS & BEHAVIOURAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and Knowledge
* Knowledge of the music industry and music publishing (desirable)
* Some experience in a similar role would be advantageous
* Familiarity of large data sets (required)
Skills and Abilities
* First class interpersonal skills
* An excellent communication style, both verbally and written
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
* The ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, whilst meeting deadlines

Availability
Core working hours are 0930 to 1730 Monday to Friday, however you will need to be flexible and able to work additional hours as required ensuring deadlines are met.
A hybrid working model is currently in place, which requires employees to work 3 days a week at our Berners Street London office location (or more if you wish!).
