Job Description
At Asda, nothing is more important to us than the health and wellbeing of our customers, and we pride ourselves on providing excellent service and clinical care. Our Optical Managers are key to our success, ensuring the team has everything needed to deliver high-quality service. We operate a fixed-price approach, with no up-selling or top-up costs for lenses, ensuring transparency and fairness for customers. Support is provided by our Home Office teams and Area Managers, along with regular business updates and performance feedback.
As an Optical Manager, you will oversee and manage the entire operation, including managing your team of Optometrists and Optical assistants, ensuring compliance, reviewing sales forecasts, and handling customer queries. You will be responsible for clinic management and shop floor processes to meet customer needs. Working closely with an Optometrist, you'll coach and develop your team, so confidence in coaching is essential. The role requires excellent organization and time management skills due to its fast-paced nature.
Qualifications include being a fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC, meeting CPD points, and demonstrating leadership in a busy optics environment. You should be confident in coaching, providing excellent patient care, and driven to meet department targets.
