About The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of Health, Safety and Compliance to lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our health, safety, and compliance across all operations.
You will be a visible leader across the business, embedding health and safety into everyday delivery and championing a zero-harm culture. Working closely with the executive team and department heads, you will ensure that compliance, health, and safety are fully integrated into business decisions and practices.
In this role you will ensure company compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, minimising risks across our business – covering offices, remote workers, and engineers working out on site.
You will own and deliver on‑site health and safety audits and inspections for our Building Optimisation division, ensuring proactive actions, knowledge improvements, awareness, and compliance with all necessary regulations.

* Foster a proactive safety culture that empowers employees to take ownership of health and safety.
* Minimise risks across all areas of the business – from offices and remote workers through to engineers working on client sites.
* Own and deliver on‑site health and safety audits and inspections for the Building Optimisation division, driving awareness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvements.
* Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders.
* Oversee compliance with ISO accreditations (14001, 9001, 27001, 45001), working with colleagues to maintain and improve standards.
* Report to the Board on safety performance, near misses, risk management, and regulatory updates, ensuring a clear line of accountability.
* Travel across the UK – predominantly in the South of England – to manage on‑site activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

* NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
* Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior health and safety role, preferably in an engineering industry.
* A practical hands‑on engineering background and experience with an electrical engineering bias would be highly desirable.
* Experience and understanding of the Electricity at Works Regulations 1989 is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessment methodologies, and best practices.
* Proven leadership experience in developing and implementing HSE policies.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to analyse data and prepare comprehensive safety reports.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive and solution‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
* Purpose‑driven mindset and an open, approachable manner backed by high moral and ethical standards.
* High IT literacy and attention to detail.
* Full UK driver’s licence and eligibility to work in the UK.

* 2 sustainable holiday travel days.
* 1 day off paid each year to volunteer for a charity of your choice.
