Administrator – Dental Radiology Department (Leeds Dental Institute)
Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Administrator within the Dental Radiology Department at the Leeds Dental Institute. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic team player who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment. The appointed individual will provide administrative support to colleagues and the clinical team, helping to deliver a high standard of service.
Main Duties
* Provide administrative support to the Dental Radiology Department, including importing and storing patient images for use in the hospital, managing electronic records, sending images via secure systems, managing referrals, and patient bookings.
* Work in patient reception: greeting patients, booking appointments, answering telephone calls, and supporting patients to access and attend the service efficiently.
* Collaborate with a small administrative team and the clinical team consisting of radiographers, dental nurses, and radiologists.
* Use specialised radiology systems and patient booking systems.
* Maintain Trust standards in all interactions with colleagues, patients, and clinical staff.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00. This position is for 3 days per week.
Qualifications
* Previous clerical/administrative experience.
* Willingness to attend relevant training courses.
* A good awareness of and understanding of issues surrounding diversity and patient involvement.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Able to use own initiative and maintain a professional attitude.
* Experience using MS Office applications.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* A*–C grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification, or experience of dealing with non‑routine activities such as specialist dental radiology queries, referrals.
Desirable
* Work experience in a health or social care setting.
* Knowledge of the NHS environment.
* Holder of the European Computer Driving Licence.
* Experience of using Hospital Information Systems and PACS.
* Personal or work experience of working with diversity (e.g., disabled people, people from different cultures).
