What You'll Do:
1. Service, diagnose, and repair a diverse range of vehicles, including electric and hybrid models
2. Conduct Class 4 MOTs for retail and internal customers with precision
3. Accurately identify faults and deliver effective solutions, balancing quality and efficiency
4. Manage recalls and warranties professionally and efficiently
5. Perform Vehicle Health Checks and coordinate closely with the service reception team
6. Utilise diagnostic tools HDS and other software to troubleshoot complex systems
7. Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards
8. Maintain high standards of customer care through clear communication and exceptional service
Required Skills:
9. Active and valid MOT Tester qualification - desirable
10. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
11. Strong understanding of automotive systems (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, etc.)
12. Experience with diagnostic equipment and data interpretation
13. Excellent fault-finding and mechanical skills
14. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and procedures (preferred)
15. Valid UK driving licence
16. Strong IT proficiency for record-keeping and diagnostics
Nice to Have Skills:
17. Technician Certification or willingness to obtain
18. Experience working with hybrid/electric vehicles
19. Additional MOT Tester qualification (desirable)
20. EV/Hybrid vehicle training (advantageous)
Preferred Education and Experience:
21. Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or Automotive Mechanic, ideally within a dealership or similar franchise
22. Experience in routine servicing, complex repairs, and diagnostics
23. Track record of delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring customer satisfaction
Other Requirements:
24. Full UK driving licence
25. Willingness to undertake ongoing training and certification
26. Commitment to safety and workshop procedures
This rewarding Vehicle Technician job opportunity offers a competitive salary of £36,000 per annum plus bonus, with an OTE of approximately £40,000. Working hours are 8:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
